AISSEE is one way to reach a destination. Here are the others we have recorded — 1 route that do not pass through it at any point.

Every one of them links to the body that runs it, so you can check it rather than take our word for it. None of them is easy, and none of them is guaranteed — they are simply open, and separate from the one that closed.

Serve as an officer in the armed forces

Officer entry into the Army, Navy and Air Force. There is a route that begins after Class 12, and a school route that begins years earlier.

    1. Step 1. Sit the NDA and Naval Academy examination conducted by the UPSC.
    2. Step 2. Written selection is followed by the Services Selection Board interview and a medical examination.
    3. Step 3. Successful candidates train at the National Defence Academy before joining their service.

    Age limits are narrow and are enforced strictly, and the physical and medical standards are part of selection rather than a formality. Both are published by the UPSC — read them before you build a plan on this.

One more thing worth saying plainly

A rank is a measurement of one paper on one morning against one cohort. It is a real constraint on which door opens next, and it is not a measurement of what you are capable of. The routes above exist because the education system has more doors than the ones people talk about — not as consolation for missing this one.
