Teach a programme, not an hour
Tutor runs its own programmes and builds its own teaching network. You are not listing yourself in a directory and waiting to be found — you apply, you are assessed on your subject, and if you join you are answerable for a programme with a syllabus, a schedule and students who stay with it.

You apply
Subject, level, boards you have taught, and how you want to teach — online, in person, or both.
You are assessed on your subject
A subject assessment appropriate to the level you want to teach. Waived only by a recorded decision, never by default.
Your documents are reviewed
Qualifications and teaching history, checked by a person.
An interview where the role calls for one
Not every role needs one. We do not run a token interview so we can say we interviewed you.
Onboarding
What Tutor expects of a programme, how the schedule works, and how students and guardians reach you.
You are authorised for specific teaching
Per subject and level — being active is not blanket permission to teach anything.
Two things worth being direct about
Creating an account does not make you visible to students. Nothing about you is published until there is an active relationship and a named person has authorised it — and it comes down again if either goes away.
Not every application reaches the end of the process. If yours does not, you will be told why.
Where you fit
The network, not an index of it
A directory collects whoever signs up and lets students sort the results. This is a network with a way in — which is slower to build, and the only way the word “programme” means anything.
Applications are not open yet
They will open at teach.tutor.org.in as we build the first Kolkata network. That site is not live, so there is no link here to follow — we will publish it when applying genuinely does something.
