Tutor Premium
Personalised learning, built around the student
Personalised teaching built around one student: their class, their board, their subject and what they are actually stuck on. Tutor arranges the tutor, agrees the schedule with you, and confirms the plan and the price before anything is paid.
What you get that a batch does not
A batch is a group working through the year together on a fixed timetable, and for most students it is the better value. Premium is for when the thing a student needs is not the same as what the group needs.
The hour is yours
Nobody else is in the session, so the pace follows the student rather than the middle of a room. That is also why it costs more per hour than a batch: the tutor's hour is not divided between twelve families.
Built on what is actually wrong
You tell us the specific difficulty — a chapter, a paper, a term's worth of catching up — and the plan starts there instead of at the top of the syllabus.
A schedule agreed with you
Not a fixed weekly slot you have to fit around. We agree the days and times when the arrangement is set up, and we do not promise a particular hour before we have asked the tutor.
What a Premium plan looks like
Premium plans are arranged individually right now
Tutor has not published a standard Premium package yet, so there is nothing here to buy off the shelf and we will not put a price on a page before it means something. Tell us the class, the subject and what the student is stuck on, and we will come back with a plan and a price you can decide on.
How a Premium price is worked out
Every price starts from the hours somebody is paid to teach. We do not pick a number because it looks attractive, and we do not quote a price we cannot pay a tutor properly out of.
The teaching hours
How many hours the plan buys, and what Tutor pays for each of them. This is the largest part of every price on this site.
Arranging it
Working out what the student needs, finding a tutor approved for that subject at that level, and agreeing a schedule with you. Real work by real people, costed as such.
Running the service
The session platform or the room, materials and marking, and the cost of the payment itself.
What keeps Tutor going
A margin that lets us pay tutors fairly and still be here next year. Enough to be sustainable, and not more than that.
What you see is one price for the whole plan, with the teaching hours it buys stated beside it. There is no separate registration fee, no material fee added later and no charge for arranging the tutor — those are already inside the number.
Who Premium is for
School students across the boards Tutor covers. The exact classes and subjects are set by what we can genuinely teach, and we will tell you plainly when yours is not one of them.
If a student is under eighteen, a parent or guardian sets up the account and agrees to the arrangement. That is not a formality — it is who we talk to about schedules, and who the payment is made by.
