Classes 6 to 12 · Advertised on 29 August 2026

The terms, before anything else

How you are paid
Hourly, for the hours you teach.
Why there is no figure here
No rate is published, because none has been fixed in advance. It is agreed with you at offer and is set by the subject, the level you would teach at, and how your assessment went — none of which is known before the assessment happens. You will have the figure in front of you before you are asked to commit to anything.
Confidentiality
The engagement is under a confidentiality agreement. The document is shared with you in full before anything is signed. Its terms are not summarised here, because a summary of an agreement is not the agreement.
How you are selected
Through the process that already exists rather than a separate one for this role: a subject assessment set at the classes the role covers, which every applicant takes, then a review of your qualification documents by a person, not a form check. There is an interview where the role calls for one.
Where and how it is taught
Taught online. There is no in-person delivery for this role. Ways a class can run: Online; A mix of online and in person.
Who you would be engaged by
Tutor.org.in. There is no registered company name, registered address or named grievance officer to give you yet. When there is, it will appear here rather than being left to the paperwork.

What the role covers

Subjects
History, Geography, Psychology, Philosophy
Classes
Classes 6 to 12. Derived from the stages of the seeded programmes that teach this subject, clamped to the hiring range of Classes 6 to 12.
Boards
  • International Baccalaureate (International Baccalaureate Organization)

    Covering MYP, DP.

This curriculum is modelled in our taxonomy but is not open for teaching on the platform yet. The role is open; the programmes are not running.

What is expected of you

A degree-level command of at least one subject in this group, and familiarity with its own internal assessment — history’s is an investigation of the student’s own choosing, worth a fifth of the final grade — and with the extended essay, on which a student may take no help beyond their school supervisor. You would teach it across Classes 6 to 12.

Working command of the published specifications you would teach against — IB, covering MYP and DP — and of how each one assesses this subject, which is where they differ from one another. For the IB that means teaching a course that runs at higher or standard level — different depth, different components, not simply more of the same — and working to the subject guide for the student’s examination session while the rolling curriculum review is under way. It also means knowing where you must stop: internal assessment is marked inside the school and moderated externally against an international standard, and the IB’s own academic-honesty rules name private tutors as a source of prohibited assistance. You would question, prompt and teach the skill; you would not draft, edit, template or proofread work that is going to be assessed.

How you are assessed

  • a subject assessment set at the classes the role covers, which every applicant takes
  • a review of your qualification documents by a person, not a form check

Selection turns on the assessment and the document review above. Nothing else is implied: no background check process is in place yet, and we will not suggest one is.

What this advert does not tell you, and why

  • No figure for the hourly rate, because none has been fixed. It is agreed at offer.
  • No registered entity, address or grievance officer, because none is on record yet. We would rather leave the line blank than fill it with something plausible.
  • No count of the people teaching here, no rating, and nobody quoted saying it was wonderful. None of that would be true today.
  • No promise about how quickly you will hear back. Nobody here has committed to a turnaround, and describing one is how you create one.
  • No background-check claim. That process is not in place, and a page implying it was would be claiming a check nobody runs.

Published on 29 August 2026. This advert runs until 25 February 2027, when it is either re-confirmed or taken down — a window we set for ourselves so that a stale vacancy cannot sit here, not a deadline imposed on you.
