The terms, before anything else

How you are paid
Hourly, for the hours you teach.
Why there is no figure here
No rate is published, because none has been fixed in advance. It is agreed with you at offer and is set by the subject, the level you would teach at, and how your assessment went — none of which is known before the assessment happens. You will have the figure in front of you before you are asked to commit to anything.
Confidentiality
The engagement is under a confidentiality agreement. The document is shared with you in full before anything is signed. Its terms are not summarised here, because a summary of an agreement is not the agreement.
How you are selected
Through the process that already exists rather than a separate one for this role: a subject assessment set at the classes the role covers, which every applicant takes, then a review of your qualification documents by a person, not a form check. There is an interview where the role calls for one.
Where and how it is taught

What is expected of you

Real programming ability in the language the board prescribes, and enough computer science to answer the question behind the question. Each of these subjects carries a practical component marked inside the school, so the work includes running a laboratory session and not only a lesson. You would teach it across Classes 9 to 12.

Working command of the published specifications you would teach against — CBSE, CISCE, WBBSE and WBCHSE, covering CBSE Secondary, CBSE Sr. Secondary, ICSE, ISC, Madhyamik and Uchcha Madhyamik — and of how each one assesses this subject, which is where they differ from one another. For CBSE that means the marks split every subject carries — an externally set board paper alongside internal assessment run inside the school, 80 marks against 20 at Classes 9 and 10 — and the composition of the paper itself, half of which is competency-focused: case-based, source-based and applied questions rather than recall. Class 10 is now examined twice a year, the first sitting mandatory and the second optional for improvement, which changes when revision has to peak. For CISCE that means the internal share, which is a fifth of the marks in the main ICSE groups and half of them in the Group III subjects, and the fact that ISC papers are set and passed to a higher standard than ICSE ones. Both now have an improvement examination behind them, where the better of the two marks stands. For WBBSE that means the Madhyamik routine as it is actually sat — one subject a day to a fixed timetable, with the first fifteen minutes given to reading the paper before anybody may write. For WBCHSE that means the semester system that replaced the annual Higher Secondary paper: four semesters across Classes 11 and 12, the first and third entirely multiple-choice and the second and fourth short-answer and descriptive, with the Council conducting the Class 12 pair. A course is planned against semester dates now, not against one paper in March.

What this advert does not tell you, and why

  • No figure for the hourly rate, because none has been fixed. It is agreed at offer.
  • No registered entity, address or grievance officer, because none is on record yet. We would rather leave the line blank than fill it with something plausible.
  • No count of the people teaching here, no rating, and nobody quoted saying it was wonderful. None of that would be true today.
  • No promise about how quickly you will hear back. Nobody here has committed to a turnaround, and describing one is how you create one.
  • No background-check claim. That process is not in place, and a page implying it was would be claiming a check nobody runs.
