For educators
Apply to teach with Tutor
Three short steps. We ask who you are and for an address we can reach you at, and nothing else — the questions about what and how you teach belong to the subject assessment, not to a form you fill in before anyone has met you.
Before you start
The form has three steps and takes about five minutes. Have your email open: we send you a code, and entering it is what files the application. It can take a minute or two to arrive, and it is good for half an hour.
What happens after you apply
- Your applicationFiled the moment you finish the last step. You can see where it has got to at any time.
- A subject assessmentIn the subjects and at the levels you want to teach. It is waived only by a recorded decision, never by default.
- SelectionYour assessment and your documents are read by a person, and there is an interview where the role calls for one. Not every application is taken further; if yours is not, we tell you why.
- OnboardingWhat we expect of a programme, how the schedule works, and how students and their families reach you.
- A decision on publicationNothing about you is visible to anyone until a named person has authorised it, and it comes down again if you stop teaching with us.
We are not going to tell you how long that takes, because nobody here has committed to a turnaround time and we would rather say so than invent one. What we will do is keep the page that shows your application honest about where it actually is.
