Ordered alphabetically. None of these is presented as better than another; which one fits depends on things this page does not know about you.

  1. After Class 12Selective, with more places than the best-known routes

    CUET-UG, then a life sciences degree

    1. Step 1. Sit CUET-UG with the science subjects the course requires.
    2. Step 2. Admission is to a B.Sc in biology, biotechnology, microbiology or biochemistry at a central or participating university.

    Not a clinical qualification, and it should not be presented as one. It leads to laboratory, research and biotechnology work, and on to a master’s or a doctorate.

  2. After Class 12Many more applicants than places

    NEET, then MBBS or BDS

    1. Step 1. Sit NEET-UG with physics, chemistry and biology.
    2. Step 2. Admission to medical and dental colleges is through central and state counselling on that rank.

    The route everyone means when they say "doctor". It has far more applicants than places, every year, by a wide margin.

  3. After Class 12Selective, with more places than the best-known routes

    NEET, then nursing, pharmacy or allied health

    1. Step 1. Sit NEET-UG.
    2. Step 2. The same score is used for admission to a wider set of courses than MBBS — nursing, pharmacy, physiotherapy and laboratory sciences, depending on the state and the institution.

    A hospital is not only its doctors. These courses admit at ranks where medicine has closed, and lead to qualified clinical careers rather than to a waiting year. Which courses use the NEET score varies by state — confirm on the official site.
