How you get there

Ordered alphabetically. None of these is presented as better than another; which one fits depends on things this page does not know about you.

  1. After Class 12Selective, with more places than the best-known routes

    IMU CET, then marine engineering or nautical science

    1. Step 1. Sit IMU CET after Class 12 with physics, chemistry and mathematics.
    2. Step 2. Admission is to the Indian Maritime University’s campuses and affiliated institutes.
    3. Step 3. Courses lead either to the engine room, through marine engineering, or to navigation and command, through nautical science.

    This is the main documented route, and listing a second one to make the page look balanced would be dishonest. What is worth saying instead is that it exists at all: it is a qualified, internationally certified career that most school students are never told about. Medical fitness standards are part of selection — check them on the official site before you plan around this.
