If CSEET does not work out

CSEET is one way to reach a destination. Here are the others we have recorded — 2 routes that do not pass through it at any point.

Every one of them links to the body that runs it, so you can check it rather than take our word for it. None of them is easy, and none of them is guaranteed — they are simply open, and separate from the one that closed.

Run, govern or start a business

Management, company law and governance, marketing, operations — and the rules a company has to keep to. Includes the route people mean by "I want to start something".

  1. After Class 12Open entry, or admission on Class 10 or 12 marks

    A BBA or B.Com, then work — and an MBA later if it is worth it

    1. Step 1. Take a BBA or B.Com, admitted on Class 12 marks or through a university test.
    2. Step 2. Work for a few years.
    3. Step 3. Apply for an MBA later, with something to say about why.

    The ordinary route, and it is on this page because students are routinely told it is the route for people who did not get one of the others. Most people in management arrived this way, and an MBA applied for after some work is a better application than one applied for out of a degree.

  2. After Class 12Many more applicants than places

    A five-year integrated management programme, straight from Class 12

    1. Step 1. Sit IPMAT or the equivalent test the institute runs, in Class 12.
    2. Step 2. Five years without applying again: the first three are the undergraduate half, the last two the MBA.

    Removes the CAT application entirely, which is the appeal. The cost is committing at seventeen to something most people choose at twenty-two, and the seats are very few.

One more thing worth saying plainly

A rank is a measurement of one paper on one morning against one cohort. It is a real constraint on which door opens next, and it is not a measurement of what you are capable of. The routes above exist because the education system has more doors than the ones people talk about — not as consolation for missing this one.
