Canada

Three- and four-year degrees, applied for by province rather than nationally, with admission weighted heavily towards your Class 12 marks.

How the degree is shaped

  • Universities are run by the provinces, so there is no single national application system.

  • Bachelor’s degrees are usually four years, with three-year options at some institutions.

  • Admission is largely on Class 12 results in the subjects the course requires.

What Indian applicants are routinely not told

None of this is hidden — it is on the official sites. It is simply not what the material aimed at you leads with.

  • Applying is done per province, so two applications to two provinces are two separate processes with different rules.

  • Colleges and universities are different kinds of institution in Canada, and a college diploma is not the same qualification as a university degree — check which one a programme awards.

Applying through EduCanada

The official government information service. Applications themselves go to each province’s system or directly to the university — Ontario and British Columbia each run their own.
